First Church has two youth groups, a youth group for students in middle school, and a youth group for students currently attending and recently graduated from high school. Both groups meet twice each month on Sunday evenings after worship.
The purpose of our youth groups is to facilitate the mission of the church among the young people of our church. We seek to equip them and give them opportunities to become and make fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. If you are looking for a youth group, we'd encourage you to come join us. You belong here!
The middle school youth group is led by Courtney Niven. She has been a part of First Church (PCA) her entire life. She was involved in the youth group programs as a student for nine years. This has given her a passion for now taking on a leadership role. Courtney graduated high school in 2015 and then went on to work full time as a physical therapist technician. Besides working with the youth in the church, Courtney also enjoys singing and playing her guitar in worship services, photography, and spending time with friends and family. Courtney plans to meet with the junior high students twice a month and head out for some fun outings with the group as well.
The high school youth group is led by Pastor Ben. The group meets the first and third Sunday nights of each month and spends roughly half their time eating and playing and half their time
studying the Bible together. A number of times a year the group will go on outings together (mini-golf, out for dinner, whirlyball, Chick-fil-a day, etc.) and once during the summer months the group will go on a week long trip together. Most recently the group travelled to Estes Park, Colorado and Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
